Interlibrary Loan

The Rensselaer Libraries can borrow materials from other libraries and digital delivery vendors. This includes materials not owned by the library and any items checked out, lost, or missing from our collection.

For current Rensselaer students, faculty, and staff, the library will subsidize up to $20.00 of the costs of materials borrowed or scanned.

Digital Delivery 

The Rensselaer Libraries can scan articles from sources in their collections and deliver them to you via email. 

This service is free of charge for students, faculty, and staff.
 

The Rensselaer Libraries can scan articles within their collections and deliver them to you via email. There is a fee associated with this service for non-affiliated users.  To begin using interlibrary loan services, you must create an account.

Fees

• Articles - $20 per article up to 30 pages
  • $0.25 per page above 30 pages
• Thesis Scans - $35.00 up to 50 pages
  • $0.25 per page above 50 pages
• Loans – This category not eligible for loans
• Rush fees - $10.00 additional cost for rush orders (requested by 12pm, delivered by 5pm same day, weekdays only)

This service is for non-profit, non-OCLC-affiliated libraries. For a cost-recovery fee, the Rensselaer Libraries can deliver copies of items from its collection and loan books to those willing to abide by Rensselaer's terms. To begin using interlibrary loan services, you must create an account.

  • $ 0.25 per page above 30 pages
• Thesis Scans - $35.00 up to 50 pages
  • $0.25 per page above 50 pages
• Loans - $15.00 per loan, must agree to lending terms 
  • Lost/Damaged items - $100.00 replacement fee, $25.00 processing fee
    • Like for Like replacement copies are accepted, processing fee isn’t waived.
• Rush fees (article scans only) - $10.00 additional cost for rush orders (requested by 12pm, delivered by 5pm same day, weekdays only)
