In line with DotCIO's recommendations to adopt Single Sign-On (SSO) for all campus-related applications where possible, RPI Libraries now requires you to access Elsevier databases using your RCS ID. Installing LibKey Nomad can help make this transition seamless.
Going forward, use your RCS ID to access the following databases, even while on campus: ScienceDirect, Scopus, Engineering Village (Compendex & INSPEC), Knovel, and LeapSpace.
Please check that your saved links to Elsevier products do not contain a reference to the library’s proxy service in the URL. You may need to update your bookmarks for Elsevier products, and faculty may need to update their LMS links to any Elsevier entitlements through RPI Libraries.
Utilizing SSO improves cybersecurity, reduces risk and administrative effort, supports Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), simplifies access, and helps ensure that access to Institute resources is properly managed.
Please submit any questions to the library staff.
