The library has launched a new series of information literacy tutorials; the first focuses on "scholarship as a conversation."
The tutorial is delivered through Percipio, and the related learner badge is awarded in HelioCampus.
We welcome faculty to include this co-curricular tutorial in their Spring 2024 courses, with options to partner with the library. Feel free to test the tutorial in Percipio to determine if it fits your course well.
After completing the tutorial, your students will be able to:
- Describe how scholarship is a conversation
- Identify methods to narrow search results based on currency and relevancy
- Identify the knowledge practices and dispositions of learners who are developing their information-literate abilities
- Apply these concepts to real-world examples
Future tutorials will cover the following information literacy concepts:
- Authority is Constructed and Contextual
- Information Creation as a Process
- Information Has Value
- Research as Inquiry
- Searching as Strategic Exploration
