The Research Libraries provide more than academic journals
and books for researchers. Library collections include
music (CDs and vinyl), films
(VHS and DVD), and current popular novels and
magazines. Additionally, as a member of the statewide
NOVEL (New York Online Virtual Electronic Library) program, the
Libraries offer unrestricted access to a selection off internet
resources geared to the research needs of families and their
children. If you have questions that are not answered below,
please send an email message to one of the addresses on our Contact Us page.

The Folsom and Architecture Libraries are open to members
of the Rensselaer community and the general public during
posted service hours. Building access to the Folsom

Rensselaer ID card or other picture ID. Persons without a
Rensselaer ID card may use the entrance door intercom to
request admission and be prepared to enter their name and
address in the Library Visitor Registration Log upon
entry.
Note: Spouses and dependents of all Rensselaer
faculty, staff and students may obtain Rensselaer
identification cards from the ID
Desk located into the Rensselaer Union. Dependents
must be at least 14 years of age to obtain an ID.

| Electronic Resources |
Although most electronic library resources, including
indexes and abstracts, electronic books, and electronic
journals, can be used for personal research when you are
on campus, remote access to these resources is restricted
by licensing agreement to current faculty, students and
staff. Restricted resources are identified on our web
pages by an
icon. You will be prompted for your
name, RIN, and Library PIN to use these resources.
License agreements also prohibit the use of
these resources in support of commercial
purposes by all users including Rensselaer
faculty, staff and students. These purposes include, but
are not limited to, students co-op or other internships
as well as faculty consulting activities.
A few resources are explicitly available only to
current faculty, staff and students for academic use.
These include SciFinder Scholar, the online version of
Chemical Abstracts, Standard & Poor's ExecuComp
Database and Standard & Poor's Research
Insight/Compustat (North America). p>

| Wireless Access |
