The Rensselaer Libraries offer a variety of services to you as an employee of a company located in either the Incubator Center or Rensselaer Technology Park. If you have questions that are not answered here, please use the Contact Us link to submit your inquiry.

Access The Folsom and Architecture Libraries are open to members of the Rensselaer community and the general public during posted service hours. Building access to the Folsom Library after 9:00 PM requires either possession of a current Rensselaer ID card or other picture ID. Persons without Rensselaer affiliation may use the entrance door intercom to request admission and be prepared to enter their name and address in the Library Visitor Registration Log upon entry.

Book Loans Rensselaer Affiliates are permitted to borrow circulating materials on the same basis as Rensselaer faculty and students. For detailed information about Borrowing Privileges, consult our Lending Policies and Borrowing Privileges. You must register in person at either the Folsom or Architecture Library Circulation Desk to use this service and be able to show identification that you are affiliated with a Tech Park or Incubator company. Books available via the ConnectNY catalog can only be used by current Rensselaer faculty, staff and students.

Interlibrary Loan The Libraries' Interlibrary Loan service will accept requests from you for books and other documents that are not available from Rensselaer collections. However, you must be willing to pay for any document costs if gratis copies cannot be obtained. To register for this service, use the following link, ILLiad and select "New User."

Electronic Resources Although most electronic library resources, including indexes and abstracts, electronic books, and electronic journals, can be used for academic purposes when you are on campus, remote access to these resources is restricted by licensing agreement to current faculty, students and staff. These resources are identified on our web pages by an RPI Only icon.

License agreements also prohibit the use of these resources in support of commercial purposes by all users including Rensselaer faculty, staff and students. These purposes include, but are not limited to, students co-op or other internships as well as faculty consulting activities.

A few resources are explicitly available only to current faculty, staff and students for academic use. These include SciFinder Scholar, the online version of Chemical Abstracts, Standard & Poor's ExecuComp Database and Standard & Poor's Research Insight/Compustat (North America).p>

Use of electronic resources is regularly monitored by library staff and vendors. Violation of licensing agreements may lead to loss of your library or other privileges as well as jeopardize conitnued campus access to a paticular resource. If you have any questions about contractual obligations or your own proposed use, please contact us.

Wireless Access Campus wireless service is restricted to currently enrolled students, faculty and staff of Rensselaer.

Photocopying For a fee in addition to other related costs, the Libraries will mail or fax copies of materials from its collections. Use the ILLiad interlibrary loan system to request these materials.
