I have been a subject librarian at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for the past fifteen years. My current responsibilities include managing reference and instructional services as well as developing and overseeing the collections and services for the School of Architecture and the areas of Experimental Media, Visual Resources and the Arts. I also manage the only branch library on campus which primarily serves the School of Architecture and is located on the third floor of the Greene Building.

The Architecture library's staff consists of three full time professionals and approximately 20 student assistants. LaVerne Sankey, Library Specialist trains and supervises our student assistants and manages the circulation, reserve and stack operations. The library houses over 30,000 volumes, and has a collection of nearly 160,000 slides, digital images and other visual materials. Jeanne Keefe, Media & Digital Assets Librarian develops and maintains the Visual Resources Collection.

Materials supporting Rensselaer's Electronic Media, Arts and Communication (EMAC) programs and the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) are housed at Folsom Library. The Media & Digital Assets Librarian, Jeanne Keefe develops and maintains those collections. The Libraries' Collection Development group (of subject specialists and library managers) jointly plan for the acquisition of electronic resources and services for the entire campus community.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Douglass College and a Masters degree in Library Service from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. I also received a Masters degree in Art History from Hunter College, City University of New York. I am an active member of several professional organizations including the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLISNA) and its regional chapters. I have served as President and Secretary/Treasurer of ARLISNA/Western New York. I served as Treasurer of the Art Libraries Society of North America from May 2006 to May 2008. I am also a dedicated participant in the Association of Architecture School Librarians, and the Capital District Library Council of upstate New York.
