ConnectNY is an information system created by a consortium of libraries in New York State that enables authorized users to borrow books and other selected materials from each others' collections. Requested materials are available at the Folsom Library typically within 2 - 3 days. Users receive email notification when items are ready for pick up. Who can use ConnectNY?At the present time, the program is available to Rensselaer faculty, students and staff located on the Troy Campus. Other members of the Rensselaer community can search the ConnectNY database, but must request items using regular interlibrary loan services. When you want to request an item, the ConnectNY system prompts for your Name, RIN and Library PIN for authentication in the Rensselaer Libraries' information system. Library users with outstanding bills, delinquent loans, expired library accounts etc. will need to contact the Circulation Desks of either the Folsom or Architecture Libraries to resolve these access issues. How long can I keep a book?Items are usually available for 21 day loans, Loan renewals may be requested, but must be approved by the lending library. All loans are subject to early recall by the lending libraries. Items borrowed from ConnectNY libraries count towards your personal borrowing limit at Rensselaer. Are there any charges? There are no fees for this service, but ConnectNY borrowers will be subject to billing for delinquent loans including separate billing and processing fees. Processing fees are not automatically waived if delinquent loans are returned late. Maintained by Irivng Stephens |
