EndNote Web - Import Formats

Some databases are not listed on this sheet. However, you can find instructions for other databases on the web that were generated by other libraries.


Sign into EndNote Web before using other databases.

**ACM Digital Library
  1. Click on full citation to view article.
  2. Click on EndNote under Tools and Resources.(on right)
  3. Click on download.
  4. Save the file as a .enw document onto your desktop.
ACM Digital Library
Ebrary
  1. Under each book title - Click on EndNote & Citavi
  2. Save File (biblioExport.action) to downloads. Click O.K.
  3. In EndNote go to Import References
  4. At File find download.
RefMan RIS
EBSCOhost
  1. Select records (add to folder - on right).
  2. Click on Folder - top bar.
  3. Select the Direct Export option to EndNote Web.
  4. Click on Save (on left).
Exported directly to EndNote Web if registered.
Engineering Village(Compendex & Inspec)
  1. Select records (click box buttons)
  2. Click on Selected Records - upper left
  3. Click on Save to My PC
  4. Select EndNote
  5. Click on Save.
Exported directly to EndNote Web if registered.
IEEE Xplorer
  1. Select records (Click box buttons)
  2. Click on drop-down next to "Download Citations"
  3. Select "RIS - EndNote/ProCite/RefMan"
  4. Click OK
Exported directly to EndNote Web if registered.
JSTOR
  1. Select records (Click box buttons)
  2. Click on "Export"
  3. Select "RIS file -EndNote, ProCite, Reference Manager"
  4. Click OK
Exported directly to EndNote Web if registered.
MathSciNet
  1. Select records (Click box buttons)
  2. Select "Citations (EndNote)" from pull down menu [Next to Batch Download]
  3. Click "Retrieve Marked"
  4. Use the Save As feature of your browser
  5. Enter a file name, select "Text File" from pull down, and click "Save"
  6. Save to desktop.
EndNote Import
ProQuest
  1. Select records
  2. Click on Cite
  3. ProQuest generates citations in 31 formats
  4. No need to export to EndNote Web
ScienceDirect
  1. Select records (Click box buttons).
  2. Click "Export Citations" [Above Citations]
  3. Select "Select "RIS format (for Reference Manager, ProCite, EndNote)"
  4. Click "Export"
Exported directly to EndNote Web if registered.
SciFinder
  1. Select records (box buttons)
  2. Click on Export (on right above citations in blue)
  3. Save references in the Tagged Format (*.txt).
  4. Save As to desktop.
SciFinder (CAS) filter
**Scitation(AIP)
  1. Click on View Description
  2. Click on Export citation
  3. Click on EndNote
  4. Save the file as a .enw document onto your desktop
EndNote Import
Wiley InterScience
  1. Select records (Click box buttons).
  2. Above citations, click on export citations
  3. Format: Plain Text
  4. Export Type: Citation
  5. Click Submit
  6. Save the file as plain text file onto your desktop

  1. Click on Sharing and Permalink Options icon on right
  2. Click on cite record
  3. Select format
  4. No need to export to EndNote Web
