LeRoy Neiman Prints in the Folsom Library

Three signed limited edition LeRoy Neiman prints, a gift to the Institute from a Rensselaer alumnus, are now on display. They are: "Metropolitan Opera" (1978), Grand Prix de Monaco" (1976) and "Delacroix's Tiger" (1977). These colorful serigraphs have been professionally framed and now hang on the west side of the main floor of Folsom Library. The Libraries also recently purchased two books, "The Prints of LeRoy Neiman" and "LeRoy Neiman: Five Decades," to accompany the artwork. The books are on display in the Class of '96 Reading Room, near the prints.

Books and Journals for Leisure Reading

Come to the Class of '96 Reading Room to peruse some 200 current fiction and non-fiction titles, many of which are New York Times best sellers. The books are leased with a subset rotating every three months when older titles are replaced by newer ones. Titles are selected by library staff from lists produced monthly by the leasing distributor. The collection is funded through the generosity of the Friends of Folsom Library and with an endowment from the Schmeltzer Foundation. Due to the popularity of the collection, only two books may be borrowed at a time for a period of two weeks, with renewal subject to recall.

There are also close to 25 non-circulating journals in the reading room which are paid for in part by the Friends of Folsom Library. You'll find periodicals such as American Heritage, Ebony, Golf Digest, Harper's, Motor Trend, National Geographic, New Yorker, and Sports Illustrated.
